I live next door. It is being developed by Simon of the 4th and T Ledroit Park Market. His original concept was a high end pizza place. However, some unknown circumstances have befallen him and have delayed this at least 2 years. Most unfortunately, we did get a chance a few months ago to get a peek inside only to find that he had installed plexiglass shields between the cashier and the rest of the storm, which is a HUGE disappointment and massive step back for the neighborhood in my opinion.

The local store owners should do what Romeo, the former proprietor of Cookie's Corner in that building, did: get a couple of huge Rottweilers and keep them in the store. Kim Wee is on to something keeping a bunch of dogs around.

this property used to be a corner store called Cookie's Corner. this has been closed for 7+ years. for the last 2 years it has been in the process of being renovated by the operator of the LeDroit Park Market (simon) at 4th and T. Last I heard it was intended to be have outdoor seating for a pizza type place. it isn't clear to me if this will be only a 'restaurant' or also have a takeout and convenience store component like Windows Cafe. - Jeff H.

God Forbid another liq store or convenience store. It would be amazing to have a bakery, butcher, hardware store, etc... Something useful. We have Bloomingdale Liq and a multi-tude convenience stores...no true need for any more!

I live across the street in Parker Flats and my neighbors and I have been watching this place closely. We heard it's supposed to be some kind of pizza parlor, but I'm not sure if those plans have been finalized yet. I just wish it would hurry up and open! The back-to-back snow storms sure haven't helped.

I was just wondering this too. Over the summer there were licenses in the windows for a place called "cookie corner" or something like that, which made me hope for a bakery of some sort, ideally this is the same project.
